Edition Records is extremely proud to announce the signing of McCormack & Yarde Duo featuring Jason Yarde (saxophones) and Andrew McCormack (piano), two of UK’s finest, most sensitive and resourceful musicians. Combining two supremely creative minds in perfect unity McCormack & Yarde Duo are able to deliver both in conception and execution – this is Chamber Jazz at its most elegant! Later this Autumn, they will release the follow up album to their highly acclaimed debut, MY DUO, released in 2009, described by Jazzwise Magazine as “an album of very mature performances and tight narrative focus that presents jazz composition and improvisation as infinitely fluid entities”.
MEADOW (John Taylor, Tore Brunborg and Thomas Stronen) sign to Edition
Edition Records are proud to announce the signing of MEADOW featuring British pianist John Taylor, Norwegian saxophonist Tore Brunborg and Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen. Featuring three of Europe’s finest and most sensitive players, each one with countless recordings under their belt, Blissful Ignorance was recorded at the prestigious Rainbow Studios in Oslo, and will be released in February 2011 to coincide with an extensive European tour.
Spin Marvel Sign to Edition
Edition Records are extremely proud to announce the signing of the improvised electronica group SPIN MARVEL and the release of their second album Spin Marvel II due for release on 24th May 2010. Led by Martin France, one of the UK’s most prolific and busiest drummers, Spin Marvel features Nils Petter Molvaer (Trumpet) and John Parricelli (Guitar), Tim Harries (Bass) and Terje Evensen (Percussion/Sound-Audio Editor). Praised for their use of textural soundscape and colour Spin Marvel released their first album in 2005 to huge critical acclaim recognising them as one of the most compelling groups on the national scene. Their new album, Spin Marvel II not only captures the essence of the first album but takes a giant leap forward and looks set to firmly launch Spin Marvel as one of the leading bands working on the European scene.
